Welcome to Flavour Country is a large gaming community based on the Steam games platform. Now that the technical stuff is out of the way, let us tell you the important information about WtFC.

Founded on April Fool’s Day, 2008 by LordBen5000, WtFC started as an extremely small Team Fortress 2 clan, with free forums and not a lot else. The clan grew slowly, picking up it’s original Squad – Kireas, Gditz, Silv0r, Datadagger, Redpierre and LordBen5000. Kireas then realized that he may as well do what he does best, which is administrate like a complete bastard, and slowly assimilated the server to be under his management, before setting up and hosting the WtFCountry domain once he realized the free forums didn’t let you keep your posts if you tried to leave without paying them. LordBen let this happen, for some reason we will never truly know, leaving Kireas in pseudo-charge of many aspects of WtFC (a state which still continues to this day).

The clan continued to expand, with Squad B being created near the end of 2008, headed by Cloud, and Squad C some time after by Hugo. The squads quickly developed their own reputations within WtFC – Squad A was the good-but-unorganized squad. Squad B was the laid-back squad. Squad C was the serious squad. This state of affairs continued for quite some time, and at WtFC’s peak the three squads had three servers – #1, #2 and #3, used for public play and private games alike.

As the group continued to expand, the then-leader of B, Cloud, decided to make a move to competitive TF2, and left Squad B with several other members to form Omega. Squad B was handed over to the command of Bezwaar, and is currently being rebuilt. The old members of Squad B are mostly still active community members.

A short time after, Squad C as a whole decided to do something similar, and split away from WtFC to form the clan ‘hello’, leaving only DanteChaos behind. The Squad was effectively dissolved, leaving WtFC with only Squads A and B, which is how it currently stands. Again, most of the old members of Squad C are still active community members.

More recently, we are moving back towards our original community status, and less of a serious clan image. We invite all players of TF2, or indeed other games, to join WtFC be it over Steam or just our forums, and join in with the conversations and general amusement that ensues.
